James “Jim” John Morf, 74, of Hawkeye, died Friday, November 27, 2015, at Unity Point Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye with Rev. David R. Nelson officiating. Interment will be at the Hawkeye Cemetery with military rites by Arnold-Rogers Post #312, American Legion of Hawkeye. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 30, at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Hawkeye and for one hour preceding services at the church on Tuesday.
James John, son of John and Ada (Sieck) Morf, was born June 9, 1941, in Hawkeye, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye. He received his education in the rural schools and graduated from Sumner High School. Jim honorably served his country, serving in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Korea. Jim worked for Walker Repair Shop. Later, he worked for thirty years at John Deere & Co. before retiring in the mid 1990’s. Jim enjoyed collecting tractors and working on them.
Jim is survived by one sister, Jan Morf of Hawkeye; one brother-in-law, John Kaiserlik of Hawkeye; two nephews, Christopher Gruver of Hawkeye and Joshua Brayton of Sumner; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and his honorary family members, Lloyd and Rick Bradley.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Kaiserlik; and one brother, David who died in infancy.
